“We believe it’s important for your care that we know your name. You’re not just a room number. After all, we’re not just treating a patient, we’re taking care of the families around them, too.”

Supporting Families will expand and extend vital programming needed by families experiencing a hospital stay by providing post-hospital services and an array of in-hospital support programs that have been shown to enhance recovery, treatment and quality of life.
Families need a better way to navigate complex healthcare once they leave the hospital. Pediatric Nurse Navigation bridges care from the hospital to home, ensuring our pediatric patients get the care they need, especially those who face chronic, complex conditions.
Nurse navigation better facilitates uninterrupted care by working with families to reduce delays in treatment, streamline care and improve communication with clinicians and care teams.
We need to continue the support of our certified Child Life Specialist team and other patient and family support services to ensure they are available to all who need them.
We also seek support for:
The Healing Arts Program — promoting holistic healing through a combination of art and music therapy.
The School Program — featuring a full-time teacher who provides direct patient instruction and also works back with each patient’s school to ensure a seamless transition of schoolwork.
Pet Therapy Program — bringing trained therapy dogs to the hospital to visit patients.
The Women & Children’s Tower at Ascension St. Vincent is a steadfast commitment to enhancing care for women and children by expanding and connecting services under one roof. The Tower will unite a relocating Ascension St. Vincent Women’s Hospital with an expanding Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, helping improve health outcomes for all people, especially those most in need, throughout Indiana and beyond.
